Soch: Columbia Pakistan Symposium Institutional Culture and Change
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the sixth annual Soch: Columbia Pakistan Symposium 2021. Since its inception in 2016, Soch has captured the spirit of intercultural dialogue and diplomatic exchange that is present throughout New York City. As one of the few conferences in the US to focus on Pakistan, we aim to foster constructive dialogue that can produce tangible change within Pakistan and the larger South Asian community.
In March 2021, Columbia's Organization of Pakistani Students will host the sixth annual “Soch: Columbia Pakistan Symposium” online. This year, our theme is Institutional Culture and Change. We want to move beyond a myopic definition of culture and explore the often academically overlooked cultural nuances of Pakistani institutions. We aim to host speakers and panels on academic culture, police culture, sports culture, judicial culture, bureaucratic culture, and startup culture. It is our belief that institutional culture is the cornerstone of sustainable progress and change. We aim to explore the progress being made, and the cultural shifts needed to reform our institutions.
